Christmas!

Well we had our first Christmas at home. Tyrel came home from Denver on Tuesday before Christmas and is home until Jan 4th. Due to weather and never knowing Tyrel's schedule we decided to stay home. Christmas Eve started with going over to our friends Marty and Annette's to have a diiner like a night in Bethlehem. We ate on blankets with candle light and ate flat bread, meat, cheese, and fruit. We then read an edited version on the nativity story due to three toddlers running around. We then came home put the kids to bed and got to play Santa. Tyrel and I had fun settin up Cooper's train and activity table. Then after we were done Tyrel's sister showed up. So we woke Christmas morning and had a great morning. Cooper has played with his train table non-stop. We already had to change the battery in his train after the first day. He will take occasional breaks from his train to play hungry hippos and his remote control CAT skid steer. We then had a yummy dinner with us, Tranell, and our friends Marty and Annette and their two boys. We had fun with Tranell playing games and watching movies. Now we are gretting ready to have another fun week with Tyrel!!

The Christmas Season

Well we have had a fun week of being homebound during the many snow storms. We are ready to get out. As a matter of fact as soon as I am done with this post we are making an exciting trip to Walmart.

So here are the Chrismas stocking that me and my friend Annette made. Well correction she made!! I don't have a sewing machine so I helped buy the fabric with her and cut out all the pieces and she was the master maker in putting them together! They turned out way better than I pictured. She didn't even use an official pattern! She made the pattern up. Now I am just going to get our names put on them. Thank you thank you Annette for doing such a great job!! I finally have stockings I like

Here is just a little preview of how much snow I shoveled this week. I felt so good when I was done each day. It was a great workout. But at the same time another reason why I am grateful for husbands, because on the 3rd day of shoveling it was super windy where it burned your face.

Here is Cooper in the snow and his fort. He is obsessed with forts right now, but he calls them tunnels. He also hides in them from the giraffes and elephants that are supposedly coming!!

Christmas Treats

So since last year I was super sick I didn't do anything for Christmas I thought I would get on top of things this year. I decided to make these cinnamon Christmas wreath treats for the people I visit teach. I will make more for other people if I get to it, but at least I got this much done!! Of course I didn't deliver them yet because we woke up to a foot of snow. So I will try to venture out tomorrow, even though we are supposed to get more snow tonight.

Ward Christmas Party

Saturday was our ward Christmas party. It was also a work Christmas party for Tyrel. Since they were at the same time Tyrel went to his work thing and I took the boys to the ward party. We ate yummy food, watched a funny little program, and of course Santa came. I only got a picture of Trip with Santa because Cooper wanted nothing to do with him. He didn't cry, but for the 20 min Santa was in the room Cooper didn't take his eyes off him once. He made sure the whole time Santa was on the opposite side of the room and if someone blocked his view he looked around them as to not lose track of Santa. If I would have had another hand I would have made Cooper take a picture with Santa, but I could hold Trip and wrestle Cooper to get to Santa. So this is all we got. Tyrel did show up at the end of the party to get some food and watch the program and then we headed home. His party was kind of a bomb, because it was actually a mine party and his boss wanted him to go and represent his company, but it was from 6-midnight and he didn't see anyone he knew so he left.

Fun Weekend

So this last weekend I went again to Pagosa Springs to meet up with Tryel who is still working in Denver. We had a blast going sledding, riding 4-wheelers, going to the Bar-D Wrangler's Christmas show, visiting, and laughing. It was great to see Tyrel and of course Cooper loved being around Grandpa and Grandma and his uncles. The only reason we came home was becasue we needed to be home for the weekend and there was a storm coming. Cooper loved playing in the snow. He thought it was so cool to make a snow angel, ride with his cousin Jayton, and eat snow. When the snow was deep he started crawling on all fours to get around. As fun as it was as always it's nice to be in your own home again in your own bed!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was with my side of the family this year and I had the pleasure of having it at my house. It was so much fun. I loved hosting it, especially when I just let it go that my house was messy messy. The mess was worth it!! It was fun to be doing all the cooking and organizing with plenty of help from everyone. I was so excited that my Turkey turned out yummy and Tyrel did an amazing job of carving it!! We had 23 people here for the special occasion. 11 adults and 12 kids! I am happy to report no major injuries and no major damages!! The only hicup was the stomach flu that got passed around, but no one had it Thanksgiving day. On Friday my brother-in-law Walt and Tyrel took 6 of the kids on a fun hike while me and my two sister's with the three younger kids went to two stores real quick. The kids loved the hike, they even saw a tarantula. Tyrel even said Cooper pretty much hiked the 1.2 miles in and half of it's up a steep hill. Then he hiked the whole way out except for part of the way down the hill. Then on Friday Tyrel's parents stopped by on their way to see Tyrel's sister and Troy brought his little 4-wheeler that he bought for the grandkids. Sarah's kids got to all ride and Cooper even learned to drive it himself with Tyrel close by to grab the brake if need be. We all had a blast playing games, eating food, and watching football. I was sad to see the weekend end. Now it's Monday and I have the stomach flu and Cooper has it again, so we are all just laying in our pj's recovering and me preparing to tackle cleaning my house again!!

Trip's 1st Tooth

So I can't believe that not only is Trip trying really hard to crawl. He now has his first tooth. He was drooling and chewing on everything, which I thought was normal because Cooper always drooled, so I didn't think anything of it. The only change Trip had in the past week is that his has been waking up every 3 hours to eat, but happy as can be. Then all of a sudden on Wed before Thanksgiving I noticed two bumps on his bottoms gums and sure enough Saturday morning one of the two teeth had broken through! Then Saturday night he slept great just waking up once. Then last night he was back to waking up a few times, so he must be working on that other tooth!! How crazy. As much as I know each kid is going to be different I am still in shock that Trip is doing these miles stones quite a bit earlier than Cooper. Cooper I think was 9 1/2 months when he got his 1st tooth. So we will see how long I keep nursing. Trip is not a good nurser now, who knows how bad he will get with teeth. I can't believe how fast he is growing up.
